Sydney International Airport

Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport (colloquially Mascot Airport, Kingsford Smith Airport, or Sydney Airport; IATA: SYD, ICAO: YSSY; ASX: SYD) is an international airport located 8 km (5 mi) south of Sydney city centre, in the suburb of Mascot. It is the primary airport serving Sydney, and is a primary hub for Qantas, as well as a secondary hub for Virgin Australia and Jetstar Airways. Situated next to Botany Bay, the airport has three runways, colloquially known as the east–west, north–south and third runways.

Terminal 2, located in the airport’s north-eastern section, was the former home of Ansett Australia’s domestic operations. It features 16 parking bays served by aerobridges and several remote bays for regional aircraft. It serves FlyPelican, Jetstar, Regional Express Airlines, Tigerair Australia, Virgin Australia and Virgin Australia Regional Airlines. There are lounges for Regional Express Airlines and Virgin Australia.

Melbourne Airport (IATA: MEL, ICAO: YMML),colloquially known as the Tullamarine airport, is the primary airport serving the city of Melbourne, and the second busiest airport in Australia. It was opened in 1970 to replace the nearby Essendon Airport.

Melbourne Airport is the sole international airport of the four airports serving the Melbourne metropolitan area. The airport is 23 km (14 mi) from the city centre.

Flinders Street railway station is a railway station on the corner of Flinders and Swanston Streets in Melbourne, Australia. It serves the entire metropolitan rail network. Backing onto the city reach of the Yarra River in the heart of the city, the complex covers two whole city blocks and extends from Swanston Street to Queen Street.

Southbank is an inner urban neighbourhood of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 1 km south of Melbourne’s central business district. Its local government area are the Cities of Melbourne and Port Phillip. At the 2011 Census, Southbank had a population of 11,235. Its northernmost area is considered part of the Central Business District and Central Activities District of the City. Southbank is bordered to the north by the Yarra River, and to the east by St Kilda Road. Southbank’s southern and western borders are bounded by Dorcas Street, Kings Way, the West Gate Freeway and Montague Street.

Running diagonally to the banks at around 178 meters long, the Sandridge Bridge was recently redeveloped from its original use as a railway to the trendy pedestrian and cycle path it is today. Reopened in 2006, three days before the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, the bridge now boasts a row of outstanding abstract sculptures named The Travellers, designed by artist Nadim Karam. Every 15 minutes, nine of the sculptures move across the bridge, supposedly representing the welcomed immigrants arriving at the Station Pier by train.

The Emily McPherson College of Domestic Economy was an Australian domestic science college for women, in Melbourne, Victoria.

It was officially opened on 27 April 1927 by HRH The Duchess of York (later Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.) On 30 June 1979 it became part of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and is known as Building 13.
